Hey Scotty, I'm becoming a mechanic when I grow up. I always wonder, when ever you work on a car, how do you organize your nuts and bolts. Also how you know which nut or bolt goes into the car when working on them.
Make pictures before you dissasemble anything. I dissasebled a radio when was teenager without making photos. It remained dissasembled since I did not know how to put it back together. It had too many small parts
A trick I sometimes use, is I put a bolt back in the hole it came from so it's not rolling around.
Some people will take a piece of carboard and draw a layout of the part they're disassembling (for example a cover) and then stick the bolts through the cardboard in the spot they're supposed to go.

these days you can just record a video of your process on a smartphone.
