Hi Scotty,
I have an '89 1st Gen 4Runner 3.0 V6, it has a code 52 (knock sensor). I changed the knock sensor and pig tail wire, used toyota OEM parts. However, the code is still there. I've read that a possible issue might be the signal between the sensor and the ECU might be bad. Any recommendations? I live in CA and my smog check is coming up!
Thank you!

I'd be looking for a bad/poor (corroded) connection. Continuity check between sensor and pcm connector.
Thank you for your reply. If there is indeed a bad connection, any advice?
Clean! But you may have to rewire that part...the harness is no longer available. Hopefully a cleaning at connectors will resolve (inspect ecm connector closely and carefully.
