Hi Scotty, I was driving last night when I started hearing this knocking noise while driving from my rear end and it would stop when I hit my brakes to slow down. Could this be my drum brakes or something else? Thank you for your help and advice. By the way the car’s a 95 Ford contour

It’s my drum brakes, passenger side is warped thank you for the help scotty

Could be tons of things but since it stops when you hit the brakes Jack the car up look for a loose parts like shock absorber bushings or bolts and worn out brake parts
I know I need to change my drums and shoes so that is what I thought it was
