Hi Scotty.

I have a 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0crd.

My front coil springs are corroded and need replacing. I am in UK and springs are unavailable, even from Jeep dealer.

I have seen KYB springs and struts on Rockauto. They come as a ready assembled unit.

Are KYB a good manufacturer? Do you think this strut and spring assembly will be ok?

I think i remember Scotty saying he was not a fan of the Monroe made ones.

Any advice would be great please.

Yes, highly recommended.

Scotty has warned against poor-quality Chinese-made quick struts. KYB should be all right. In a recent video he recommended Detroit Axle struts.

I have a 1979 Pontiac Catalina. The shocks were probably bad 25 years ago. I replaced the factory original shocks with KYB shocks 3 years ago. It was a night and day difference. The car is still a massive boat, but with the new shocks, when I turn around corners, they actually dampen some of the body-roll again. The orginals were so shot, I had to be really careful about turning too quickly.

Hi to all who took the trouble to help.

It would seem that KYB are reputable. I have been absent from the site for a while so i apologies for the delay in replying.

The KYB strut/spring combo is cheaper than the Moog springs without struts too.
