Do get it checked out by a mechanic anyway if you don't know what you are looking at. The brand sometimes doesn't represent the people who drive the car, if it all checks out and there are no codes, go for it. If you really enjoy the vehicle and it needs some TLC then negotiate the price down. If the person who is selling you this refuses for you to take it to an independent mechanic then they're hiding something.

Pretty good choice. They don't get much more reliable than that.
