Scotty,  Thoughts on purchasing a late model Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL or Suburban.  Will this be a long lasting vehicle?  Any problem gremlins?

Thanks Paul

No, they won't. Generally, the GM quality is not there any more.

Yes. The cylinder deactivation gremlin.

They can last a long time in the shop where they all love to hang out. GM has been making a lot of junk for the past decade.

Avoid them both, for a purchase anyways.  If you must have one, then just lease it and return before the warranty expires.  But best advice is to avoid them altogether due to lackluster quality with GM’s modern vehicles which are very tech-heavy now (equating to more potential issues and headaches during ownership).

Lots of gremlins, they all look like they've been beat with the ugly stick, all super overpriced, and not reliable at all.

I would pass.

Thanks folks.

So I guess the same hilds true for the Silverado and Sierra PickUp trucks??

yes. same engines. same cost cutting. More electronic gadgets to fail. The vans or heavy duty trucks (3/4 ton, 1 ton) are more reliable.

I suppose there is no way to “turn off” cylinder deactivation and leave as permanent V8?

So what Years are good for Toyota 4Runners,

There are some partial solutions., but nothing that will completely fix it as far as I know.
