Hi Scotty, I have a 2016 Lexus RX350 FWD with 36,000 miles. To me, it rides and drives fine. There are some "shiny" sections on parts of the front strut, would this be a leak? Thanks!
(I wish I could post pictures here)

Most likely, strut boot rubbing a painted part of the shock. Oil leak would be, black, greasy muck, … collecting dust and grime.

Thanks for your reply -- did you mean it's most likely NOT a leak?
Correct. Oil leak would be greasy, tacky. If you touch it and rub it with your finger, … will feel dirty-greasy. Shiny spot and clean otherwise means, … it’s rubbing something against something. Most often dust boot - being quite hard-plasticky and flimsy - rubs against the painted shock body as it moves up and down, … leaving a shiny marks.
