Hey scotty, I've got a confusing one, my ba falcon i6 is bouncing around lean & rich on ST sensor one but ST 2 is bouncing around quite high, what's confusing me is my car only has one exhaust o2 sensor & the next model has 2. Ps St1 I think ive tracked to a bad mass sensor even though I've cleaned it recently. Thanks
Hello there! I suspect that your mass air flow sensor may be acting up. The mass air flow sensor determines how much air is being sucked into the engine, so if it's not working properly it can misinform the ECU that the engine is either running lean (too much air for the fuel) or rich (too little air for the fuel). One way to check if your sensor is working properly is to hook up a scantool and look at the airflow data. If you rev the car and don't see the airflow increase, then it's the sensor. However, the O2 sensor also helps determine the air/fuel mixture. So it's also wise to check the data from the O2 sensor to make sure it is working properly.
Hope that helps you! Good luck!

That doesn't really answer my question sorry, I've already used a scantool already know it's bouncing around percentages, already know it's most likely the mass air flow. The question was more that why em I getting readings from a second sensor that doesn't exist or which sensor is it, and why is it much higher then the first sensor readings.. thanks
@razmigb
Ps it's an i6 with one manifold and one o2 sensors, don't understand why I'm getting 2 different readings on a single manifold system with only one sensor 🤔
do you have a second 02 sensor after a catalytic convertor?
@hogdoctor
No only one o2 sensor just below the manifold, the model after has a second one after the cat
In that case it could just be a software issue with your scan tool. I had a cheap dongle using the Torque app, it was showing codes for diesel exhaust fluid injection on my gasoline engine... got a better scan tool and no more issues.
@hogdoctor
Sadly that's not the case I have a Bosch scantool and the readings for the st ftrm2 sensor bounces around like it's getting active readings
