it’s a 2010 jeep compass. it shut off on my in the drive though. cranked back up and ran for about 5 secs now it won’t start at all. check engine light is on for camshaft sensor i replaced both of them and it still won’t start but it does crank over
i don’t believe so idk they are two different brand sensors. one is car quest and the other is duralast i believe
Aftermarket sensors frequently don't work properly.
It's also possible there is some other underlying problem. You did not provide the actual code or codes causing the check engine light, and did not provide any freeze frame data.
There is no such thing as "check engine light is on for camshaft sensor". Fault codes generally do not indicate that a specific part is bad, they show that a condition exists that may have a number of different causes. Did you troubleshoot any other possible causes before installing the new sensors?
@chucktobias thanks for the info! the code was P0340. should i try to just get oem sensors before messing with anything else?
@woodley8900 I would first check on the other things aside from sensors that can trigger P0340.
