White smoke means the car burns coolant. Stay away from that car.

Nope...don't get this...burning coolant from internal leak.

Run away unless the owner is willing to get the whole problem fixed before he sells you the car in which he's not going to do that. He's pulling a fast one thinking that people are stupid so he can make some money and pass a nightmare on to someone else. Run away!

White Smoke also means a bad head gasket and either way you put it...it's cost and repair. A used car should run ok with only minor maintenance or light repairs. Anything else is dangerous and you don't want a lemon or a money pit. A-lot old used cars that people want to get rid of belong in a junk yard. I bet that if that car had no problems, the owner would not offer to sell it. They would most likely keep it. To add insult to injury, most people lie about a cars condition and would tell you any sad story as to why they want to sell their car. The worst thing is when they try to get rid of their car...they have the nerve to ask for too much money.
