Lexus blown head gasket

I have a CPO 2015 Lexus RX350 with 44,500 miles and was told I have a blown head gasket. I noticed oil under the car and took it into the dealership. Was told it is a $7,000 repair! I bought it with 18,000 miles and have had it serviced regularly. I have not driven it much due to Covid. The big problem is that I am 2 weeks out of warranty! Do I have any chance of getting Lexus to help with this? Should I take it to an independent mechanic? Is this a reasonable cost? I just have a lot of questions right now. Thanks

Something does not seem right.  I would confirm yourself that the head gasket is indeed blown:  very easy to do

I wonder as well. That would be one of the lowest mileage head gasket failures I've seen on a Lexus product.

They are super expensive when things go wrong, especially if you are at a Lexus dealer. An independent shop might save you some, but it wouldn't be much unfortunately. The CPO warranty expired at just 45k miles? This is why I do not recommend spending the money for CPO.

If you are put of warranty, Lexus most likely will not offer a fix.
