Hey Scotty,
Currently have a 2015 Infinity Q50 80K miles that I really like and have had no problems with it. I know your stance on Nissan/Infinity and suggestion to get rid of it before 100K or so.
That said, I would like another luxury 4 door sedan - thinking the LS460 or similar Lexus model. You mentioned stay away from the big V8 so looking for suggestion on what year/model I should look for on the used market. Like you, want a good price point (which I got with the Q50 as 3 yr old lease turn in) and the reliability of Toyota/Lexus as we keep our cars 10-12 yrs on average.
Might be best to just hang on to the Q50 and gamble on repairs but the luxury of the Lexus is tempting. Open for ideas.
Take care and keep the videos coming!
Research prices for used Lexuses in your area. The price of used cars is high with our current market. Also, look up the value of your car right now. If you can get good money for it, then sell it and get a Lexus. If the prices of the Lexuses are out of your price range, then keep driving your Infiniti.
Scotty Kilmer and other mechanics on youtube have said the repair costs of these Lexus 460s can be extremely high. I've seen a few of them say the air suspension can be a nightmare.
I also don't think any of them have said they're as reliable as previous models. But then the previous ones are up there in age now, so all swings and roundabouts...
The more I read about the 460 I think I will hold off as the repair costs are high. They have some problems with brakes, front end, power steering, etc. which can get real costly.
Might look at the Avalon
Thanks
