I have a 2008 ford escape XLT with 3.0 188,996 miles it leaks a little bit of oil I tried at-205 it slowed down but it still leaked from the timing cover and oil pan can I use 5w 30 oil instead of 5w20 will it damage the engine or not
It says to use 5w20
Then use 5W20. Heavier oil can cause problems for the variable valve timing mechanism.

What does your owner's manual say about acceptable oil weights?
The only real fix of course is to replace the leaking gaskets.
