Hello Scotty! I have a 2004 Lexus RX 330 with 167,00 miles on it. Had it since new. It runs like a champ, but the transmission is starting to show signs of needing a replacement. Should I get rid of it now, or save up to replace the transmission when it finally goes? The car is cosmetically in good shape for the most part, and my wife likes driving it.

The general rule is If it costs more than the cars worth, it's not a good idea. Unless it's the car of your dreams.

The cost of repairing the transmission is high compared to the value of that car.
At the end of the day, it is your money though, so you decide to put that kind of money into that vehicle or not.
