Lexus rx300 194000 miles
I have a small oil leak. Told it had to do with timing belt. Does that sound right?

Told by whom? An experienced mechanic?
Belts are just strips of rubber. They can't leak, so I don't understand this statement.

I don't know who told you that but it makes no sense. A timing belt would not cause an oil leak. More likely a leaky valve cover gasket.
