Hi Scotty!!! I have a 2016 Toyota Corolla LE with CVT transmission with 100,100 miles. My Dad always told me to make sure I put the parking brake on at all times when parking before taking foot off of the brake pedal, to take the pressure off of the transmission. This was years ago, now I can't stop the habit. Was this ever true, or old wives' tale?

Its a great habit. Takes the weight of the car off the parking pawl. Its more important to do this when parked on a hill compared to a totally flat lot. However I do it on flat ground too.
Not an old wives tale, continue to use the parking brake.

I don't use it unless I'm on an incline. No point wearing it out.
Where is it going to go?
