Lexus ticking

Hello Scotty , I have a 2011 KEXUS LS-460 with only 52,000 miles . Since new , it has a very light ticking sound at idle that sounds like valves out of adjustment. Two dealerships have said it is a high pressure fuel pump for injectors , near the firewall , more or less behind the glove box . Because the car is so quiet , you can really hear it at a stop light .
They say it can’t be fixed ( design flaw on the 4.6 V-8).

ever hear of anything like this ?
Mackie.   Ps : love your crazy show !!!

I mean if that's your only issues with a Toyota UR series engine - I'd live with it, injectors ticking is quite a common issue on modern engines. If the injector noise gets too loud you can always just replace the injectors, but that'll most likely is going to cost a small fortune.

Unlike old Toyota V8 these aren't trouble free, luckily your one probably wasn't effected by the 2010 faulty valve spring recall, but oil consumption of around 2/3 of quarts each thousand miles (due to sitting in traffic, from what I herd these engines have some issues with internal hotspots and are the reason for the plastic inserts into cooling jackets on modern Toyota engines), water pumps failing each 60k miles, and issues with the timing chain tensioner - ends up effecting most owners at higher millage.

but hey, according to Toyota, these engines got a CT and X-ray scan after casting so I guess the engine block material must be top-notch.
