Let's say hypothetically that there's two cars for sale. One being a 2013 lincoln Mks 3.5 ecoboost AWD with 103,000 miles for $11,000. And a 2012 Lexus LS 460 with 174,000 miles on it with AWD for around $12,000. If you absolutely had to buy one, which which would be the better option?
Neither because the Lexus LS, while clearly a better choice, but at that mileage and moving forward will cost an arm and a leg for repairs when (not if) they are needed. The V8 does not leave much room for working around the engine. For an example, changing the starter requires removing the intake manifold just to access; if you have to pay a mechanic to do that for you it can cost a lot. Also, running costs (like fuel, insurance) will be higher too.
.
I recommend a Lexus GS or ES with the V6, instead.
