I have a 1999 Ford Ranger,v6 automatic trans,214k miles.I have to put in 2nd to engage trans and then in drve, recently it takes ai while to engage gears after putting n 2nd,wiiiiiiiith a lttle acceleration it does engage. Linkage or slipping gears ?

When was the trans fluid and filter last changed? Is the fluid level correct? What color is the fluid?
