To disable the Illuminated Entry feature, I twisted the twist-in bulbs away from a full connection in the light sockets on the top interior lights that have a press feature for turning the lights on and off. Is this not safe, such as a problem from arcing electricity, because I just wanted to keep the bulbs in the power sockets but would actually never use those lights? Thank you for your advice.

Did you try consulting the owner's manual?
