Live data

Hello Scotty,

I appreciate your channel and honesty. Could you possibly do a segment on live data, such as what is important to look for when scanning a used car, what's normal and abnormal and what the values mean? Thanks for all you do.

That would be a LONG, technical video that wouldn't help anyone in the end as most people would be totally lost on the language.

You need to be a mechanic to understand the values of all that information. It is not something you can pick up in a simple 10 minute YouTube video. And the data is also fluid, meaning what would be a bad rating for one car could be acceptable in another due to differences in age, mileage, condition, motors, etc. etc.

Start here:  try it on your existing cars and see what you find.  For mass airflow reading, convert the units to grams/s and the value should be around (ballpark) the displacement (in L) of your engine.
