Hello Scotty,
Big fan 🙂
Live on top of a hill, how do I drive downhill (12% grade for 0.5 miles ) in the morning with a speed limit of 25 MPH with a cold engine.
Should I use the brakes to limit the speed or use engine braking while going downhill on cold engine? My Acura auto limits the engine rpm to 2k if I put it in Sport mode when the engine is cold and going downhill. Is it advisable to do that?
Thanks,
Vikas

That's a mild hill. There is no risk of your brakes overheating, so use them. I would avoid the wear on your expensive transmission, especially a weak one like DCT.

I would put it in low gear and help it with brake though.
