Looking at 06 Frontier, V6, Automatic, 146,000 miles. Concerned about the fact that when at idle the oil pressure gage drops to zero and the oil low pressure light illuminates. Owner stated that the dealer said it’s a problem with the gage/sending unit. What are your thoughts?

That’s a red flag - I would pass on that. You got other issues to worry about as well. See this post below (2005-2009 were impacted):

Realize if the previous owner did not fix that issue, what other items (maintenance/service) were they NOT on top of? It makes you wonder. Those already were not good years for the Frontier, you don’t need more issues on top of that.

It is easy to test the oil pressure.
