Yes there were a lot more mountain men back in those days. Like California’s “Greatest Mountain Man”, the real Grizzly Adams.

I've spent a lot of time in the mountains. I've encountered many bears, but I haven't had to fight any grizzlies yet, so I'm a wuss compared to those legends.
You remind me of grandfather he passed away this year I really miss. We used to do alot of traveling together. He was a veteran and always told storied about his past when ever I visited him. We went hunting and hiking together and there was one time we got lost for two days with no GPS and he used his army training to find way back home. He was my true inspiration I followhis foot steps everyday.
I am setting goal for this year or maybe next year to climb K2 mountain. It was his dream to climb it but age and family he wasn't able so I am gonna make his dream into reality
Don't worry aint gonna go alone. There is whole squad of professional mountain climber are coming with me so it is really upto them when they are gonna go this year or next.... and tbh I am bit scared but ain't gonna give up
That sounds like quite the story. Times like that we remember for the rest of our lives. The trip in the photo above turned very butt puckering only hours later.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather. Mine passed away a few years ago too at a ripe old age. He was very wise, kind, and accomplished, so I felt a great loss.
K2 is a killer mountain. That's an ambitious goal. People train a long time for it. Isn't it supposed to be deadlier than Everest?
Believe me it is I have been training with the squad for two years. We were planning to go last year than covid happened. It could have been best birthday gift for my grandpa if it wasn't for covid. But now since everything is opening up and we have all the gear and we all are getting warmed up so yeah maybe this year or next. I will post it on YouTube if your interested u can take a look.
