Trying to narrow it down to 2 years you would definitely look for a forerunner up to 2015 in 4x4. 6cyl. For purchase.
Just get so confusing hearing multiple opinions on which years are good which years are bad yada yada

Just get the best one you can find for the money.
The engine and transmission were the same from 2003 to 2015 and after. It is solid and proven.
Customer reviews show very few complaints mechanically from any 5th gen. Most complaints were comfort and driving characteristics.
