My daughter lives in Austin TX. I am in Chicago. She is looking for a used SUV for her and my granddaughter. I recommended a Rav4 or CRV. I would like her to buy from a private party but want her to have it checked out by a good mechanic with a professional level diagnostic scanner. What questions would you suggest I ask a mechanic to see if they are competent to evaluate if a car is worth the money?
