Hey Scotty, I’m hoping to buy a old Chevy square body soon for under 6k. Any recommendations on years, or things to watch out for?

Yeah. Rust.
Any square body under $6k is gonna have rust and lots of it. Better know how to mitigate it.

I like the 1978 model before they loaded it up with all the smog control and electronic junk.

If you don't care about the year or which engine it has, you should be able to find quite a few decent options. At least I found quite a few good ones where I live, though I'd recommend one with either the 350 C.I. V8 or the 454 C.I. V8 if you want a good chunk of power, don't expect good gas milage though lol.
