Hello Scotty. I am looking for a used 2500 pickup with a crew cab and 8 foot bed. What year make and model would you recommend? We are using it for a small business to haul all our equipment when we go to shows. We are an ice cream business. Thank you for your time

This might have been the case 50 years ago. Now, the only difference between GMC and Chevy is a the badge and some cosmetic items.
They're made on the exact same assembly line.

In the 1960s GMC had its own line of heavy-duty V6 engines specifically designed for trucks. They had design features like an oil bath for the camshaft when the engine was turned off to protect it from scuffing when starting up. They even had a V12 model for large trucks. Today - forget it.

Welcome new member!

Depends heavily on your budget and intended use.  Maybe a Ford with 7.3 powerstroke, maybe a Ram with a Cummins.  Maybe an old GM gasser.  But I would start with the search bar above.  Lots of posts about 3/4 ton trucks in the last 6 months.  You will get a broader range of opinions than just from who responds today.

Best regards

Well if you must get a 2500 make sure it's a GMC and not just a Chevy. The GMC's are better made and of course the older ones were more reliable but they may have too many miles on them. You don't want to buy one. It's all worn out
