I've heard some both good and bad things about the Nissan Pathfinder, I know about the SMOD issue, and how to fix it if it hasn't been already fixed. It's a 06 With 148k miles 4x4 and they want 5,500$ (Private Party). I'm just wondering how it will hold up in the long run, mainly the transmission as I know the Nissan 4.0L are great powerful Reliable Engines. Any other things I should be considered about it? Anything helps and Thanks!
The pathfinders of that genre were awesome I had an 05 and I still miss it from years ago. If you get it spend 70-100 bucks get an aftermarket trans cooler and just bypass the radiator cooler and it will last forever. Those engines and trans are solid and shouldn’t give you any real problems
The transmissions themselves were decent but they had a coolant leaking into transmission issue which was horrid. In fact this car is on this website's offical FAQ's worst cars complaints list.
