Hi I recently posted about finding Tacoma’s, my uncle might be willing to sell his 2003 Tacoma. It has 330,000 miles but most of it from I heard is highway miles. It runs good with no major problems. Only problems I see is small paint that has chipped off, left window won’t lower, right door can’t open from inside. It has a check engine light but he says it’s only the light that turns on that light is messed up and needs to be replaced. He bought it from my other uncle for $2000 and he says he’s been taking good care of it ever since. He hasn’t told me how much he will sell it for but I looked up the Value based on info I know and it’s supposedly worth 1,200 dollars of now, is this accurate or too low? The only thing he’s done is fix small stuff with the doors. He hasn’t modified the engine or anything mechanical. Pls help
let me get this straight...
he can't even fix a door handle or a window.
He has ignored a check engine light.
He can't touch up a paint chip
That is not how you "Take good care" of a truck. Don't believe a word he says.
I meant to say he has taken good care as far to the main mechanical part, change oil, transmission, etc. I do question if the engine light is actually going bad or if there is actually a problem that needs attention. As long as the Tacoma I look for runs great and has been taken care of as far as the maintenance that it needs I don’t mind a few minor issue with the paint and door problems. Should i at least get a mechanic to check it or not bother and keep looking?
I would keep looking. He may have been driving it with a serious issue for years.
It sounds like it has had a rough, low maintenance life to be honest.
