It just came out, and you're buying the 1st of a new generation, so you are the guinea pig.

No one knows how the new Sequoia will fare over time.  It’s best to wait a few years to see what issues crop up with this generation.  If you intend to buy this vehicle thinking it will last a long time with several hundred thousand miles put on it - you MAY be disappointed.  Again, we just don’t know yet.

That being said, if you plan to buy a brand new full size SUV, given the poor competition in terms of quality, reliability, durability, I would still take my chances on this Seqoia over those other SUVs.

The Sequoia is so new. The platform it is built on ia so new. Look at the latest generation Tundra for clues as to whether it is reliable or not. Also look to the Lexus LS, as it shares the same engine. 

It’s a Toyota, so odds are it will be reliable. But no one really knows yet.

For a full size body on frame SUV, the Seqouia is probably my first choice. I’m a little skeptical with the turbo, but only time will tell.
