Car won’t turn on

Hi everyone!

I have a 2009 Honda Civic Coupe EX w/ 155k miles - Automatic- and this morning, I was going to head out to work when I unlocked my car and tried turning on, it wouldn’t turn on at all. The Anti-Theft light is still on and blinking, even after I disconnected the battery. The TPMS and ABS lights come on, but the car will not start, and the AC won’t even turn on. I was wondering if there was a way I could bypass this.

The AC compressor won’t turn on with the engine off.

Did you disconnect the battery properly?

Have you tried different key?  Could it be that your key FOB went bad, or that the Anti-theft immobilizer is having an issue.  If both keys does the same thing, the issue may be with the immobilizer.  There may be a fuse that may be blown.  Your anti-theft may be saying your key doesn't match the car.

Just a disclaimer, there was a shooting that happened at my apartment complex and I’m not sure if that may have triggered my cars alarm or anything.!

Is your car battery dead? When you try to start, does it make a clicking sound? Are you using the proper key?

Yes, I disconnected the battery and it still comes on afterwards. I just got a brand new battery not even a week ago and I replaced the starter on that same week and it was starting just fine until out of the nowhere, the anti theft light was on, even after I had unlocked the car, no crank or anything, just flashing anti theft light and for some weird reason, TPMS and ABS light on. I’ve been using the same key ever since I got the car which was a year and a half

No, it’s a brand new battery, and I’ve been using the same key without an issue for a year and a half, no clicking noise, brand new starter, now it just doesn’t want to turn on and the anti theft light just stays blinking every 5 seconds. I tried disconnected but nothing happened.

Hey everyone,

I have a 2009 Honda Civic Coupe EX w/ 155k miles and automatic.

I woke up one morning to go to work and I got into my car perfectly fine until I seen that my car wasn’t cranking at all. The first signs I noticed were dim dash lights with the ABS and TPMS lights and also a blinking Anti-Theft Light. I’ve also noticed that none of my accessories power on, and the windows don’t even move either. I’ve tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, but the Anti-Theft light still comes on, but sometimes the dash light won’t come on anymore or they’ll be very faint. I’m not sure if it could be a poor Alternator or something with my ignition switch or key. I got a brand new battery about a week ago and I replaced the started the same day I received the battery. I’m trying to see what the issue is before I waste my money on a part I didn’t need. The thing that is throwing me off is the Anti-Theft light being on, but my key unlocks (manually) the doors and fits snug and turns as it should, but I’m not entirely sure.
