my 2005 g.m.c canyon sle 3.5L 5cyl curse stopped working there's also a small gray wire just hanging next to my steering column near my brake??? tryed cheking the fuse already help.

Get a wiring diagram from a place like AllData and see what's that wire, and how the cruise system works.
I do not know how it's wired on a GMC, on most older American cars the signal from the button goes to the ECU (and you can see it on live data) while on many more modern cars there's either a module or it's done by a the gauge cluster computer.
Basically, it's a job for a skilled auto electrician.
