Loud popping noise from wheel well when turning

Hi Scotty, I have a 2005 Camry XLE 2.4L automatic trans. with 170k miles on it. When I turn my steering wheel all the way to the right I hear a loud popping noise coming from passenger side front wheel. It only happens on very low speeds or when i'm backing out of a parking spot. The noise is even louder when i release the brake pedal after reversing and turning to take off. I don't have a jack at home. How can I diagnose the problem without it?

You almost certainly have a bad CV joint on your passenger side. Keep in mind that Camrys come with a jack for changing flat tires - you should have one in your trunk. If you want to attempt to further diagnose and/or repair, what you need are jack stands (they aren't expensive) which you should place under the car - and set the parking brake & chock the wheels.

Thank you @glen_stet. I will check on the CV joint and report back.

Lift the front side of the car that makes noise with your jack (the one you use to change your tire), and check the suspension parts.

Thank you @yaser

Cv axle is definitely possible.. does it do it sitting still or only moving slow? Possibly a strut mount or bearing

It's probably the CV joint
