I drive a 2010 Buick LaCrosse 3.0 automatic v6 with 123k miles in it my car does this tapping noise when in idle but its a low fast tapping noise it doesnt sound like a rod knock because it isnt loud enough but it is coming from the engine you can also hear it when you’re inside the car if you pay attention to it but you barley hear it if anybody can help me out with this i would appreciate it i want to fix it before anything worst happens to it
Could be an exhaust leak from the exhaust manifold. Does the same cold or hot? Increases with RPMs?
Yes it does the same when its cold or hot and no it doesn’t increase with rpms only when its in idle
Definitely possibly an exhaust manifold tick and would go away when warm or check the oil to be safe could be a lifter noise as well
