I have a 2001 dodge caravan with 192K kilometers. When the gauge is just above a quarter tank the low gas light comes on. There is no OBDII codes. I have changed the fuel pump but still have the same issue. What else could be the cause of this?
If that’s the only issue, and the fuel level is not really bare minimum at quarter tank, I’d ignore/live with it.
Test it by filling a tankful when the light comes on.
If you’ve already changed the fuel pump & sending unit, it might be the wiring or the gauge cluster itself.
Thanks for the suggestion. I filled the tank today and it took 59liters(tank is 76 liters), so looks like about quarter tank is left. But now its full the needle is showing way past the full mark
Great, I guess the half tank notch is your cue to fill up. If you can’t live with it, find another working gauge cluster from a junkyard & see if it fixes it. Don’t throw too much more money into it, though. It’s not a safety issue since it’s under-reading. Over reading is the one that’s sinister (gauge shows quarter but tank is dry). All the best!
