Scotty so happy I found your website . I need help. I purchased 2006 Toyota Camry last January, it’s 4 cylinder and runs well. Problem is I have terrible gas milage and I don’t know why. I had 2004 Camry before this one and it got totaled and I always got terrific milage. Can you give me idea of what to do to get better milage? Much appreciated.
Marie
If you have a lead foot (i.e. you floor it a lot) that will hurt mileage. Also, neglecting maintenance/oil changes/tranny fluid changes will affect gas mileage as well.
you might want to have your vehicles computer scanned. There may be a sensor that is not sending the correct values to the computer, but is still operating within it's parameters.
Thank you BC st
What are the numbers...what MPG are you presently getting on average ?
Thank you everyone that answered my question . Actually I do not have a lead foot lol. Don’t know exactly how many mph I get , all I do know that needle moves pretty darn fast down and that never happened with my 2004 Camry in which I got approx 32mph. I will do as you suggested as far as having it checked out, I will give feedback once I do this. Merry Christmas everyone!!
