Well from my experience with those it's often a problem in the fuel injection system often the injectors kind of leak fuel and when you're idling if you get too much fuel it'll go weird and stall out and not idle right. Because of age one like that often will need new fuel injectors and or fuel pressure regulators they can leak to. But of course a ton of things can cause that vacuum leaks wiring problems but I would check the injectors first

hey! my 2001 4.3 s10 is having a problem with the idle, whenever it warms up a little bit the idle drops really low and it wants to stall when giving it gas, i replaced the throttle position sensor and that did not work, but what is confusing is when i unplug the sensor as soon as i and plug it back in while the truck is running the idle will go back up but when you turn the truck off and start it back up the idle is bad again do you know what is causing this? thanks.
