Hello Scotty,
My lower engine cover on my Sonata 2015 is to be replaced. Do you think it's a good ideal to just take it out and don't replace it by a new one?

Clarification: Are you talking about your oil pan gasket?
No, not the oil pan gasket. It's like a large piece of rigid fabric that protects the entire engine bay from road debris and water. It is also named an 'Undercar Shield'.

I recommend replacing it. It protects all the wiring and sensors exposed to the elements on the underside of the car. They are not that expensive. Be sure and have all the screws on hand when you swap it out.
