Lubricating door and metal to metal hinges

First of all just wanted to thank you for all of your videos I love them, I was told you should use wd-40 white lithium however you saying silicon is better. could you please tell me if both are good if not why silicon is better in your opinion?

Silicone is best for the rubber seals around doors and window tracks. 

Grease is best for metal door hinges.

You can get pure silicone grease and oil on Amazon (et al), and it will go a lot farther than the spray cans.

Lithium is the best for metal parts.

Agree with Carlos 100%, if you want an low-cost and simple way to apply the grease and oil, use an acid brush. We get ours from Harbor Freight, link follows.

Years ago I had an issue getting acid brushes... switched to cheap art paint brushes found everywhere...be surprised how much more versatility you can get due to the diversity of the brush ; )

Use what is recommended unless known better product for the design.

I still use lithium in some places as it seems to attract less particulates in the environment still (atom #3 with valance properties that will likely never be beat in this application).

I use penetrating oil. Spray lithium works too. Wipe it down after.
