2004 Chevrolet Suburban 242, xxx miles
Will anything negative happen if you add Lucas stop slip fluid to a transmission that is NOT slipping?
Is ok to use as a preventative measure for the inevitable?
Lucas is not suitable for regular maintenance. It is a last resort, temporary bandaid to attempt getting a few more miles out of a failing transmission. If your transmission is working OK just stick to the factory-specified fluid changed at regular intervals.
Will anything negative
Yeah, you'll bugger up the transmission and wear it out quicker.
Those additives were formulated to be short term band-aids for already failed transmissions, not as a replacement for maintenance. If your transmission needed that stuff, it would already be in there.
In fact I bet if you look in your manual it will warn you against it.
