Lucas Transmission Fix worth adding?

Hey scotty should I add Lucas transmission fix to my car even if it doesn't need it? I have a 2008 Honda accord EX-L with 83,000 miles. Will it help maintain my transmission longer?

Nope, in this case, don’t fix something that isn’t broken.

Lucas has friction modifiers in it. It increases friction in the fluid to help worn parts. It isn’t needed if your transmission is running fine. In fact it could cause problems in a working transmission, basically its a hail mary for a failing transmission that at times can help extend its life. Scotty uses AT205 rubber rejuvenator on several things. Its designed to recondition rubber seals on leaking transmissions. Personally on transmissions over 100k I will add about a third of a bottle as a preventative measure. You only have to do it once. And that small amount doesn’t really require you to drain any fluid. If your transmission is sealed(No Dipstick) just leave it alone if its running ok. If your transmission hasn't been serviced, then at 83k I’d recommend a fluid and filter change. Not a flush. Just a change and filter. I beleive Honda’s recommendation is every 30k miles for filter and fluid.
