Power steering shuts off, gages go wonky sure you know th deal. I checked with Chevy gave them the vin was told the recall on the steering had been done. When I slap the right side of the shift control on the floor where the fuse box is located steering comes back on gages start working. Is this just and issue of cleaning up connections and grounding. Want to sell the car but won't endanger someone who might want a car for a son or daughter.

Yup, start with the simple things first. Check your wiring & fuses.
GM vehicles are renowned for having trouble with the grounds.
If they’re all good/problem remains, check your drive belt, next.
