Hi Scotty. Love your show! The fuel economy on my 2015 corolla is suffering and I'm thinking of having the mass air sensor replaced to attempt to improve it. I was quoted NZD 470 (about USD 340) for labour and replacement parts to have it done. This seems pretty pricey - is this a reasonable cost or am I being ripped off? Also, would it show on a scan if I needed it replaced? Thanks, Campbell.

Yea, pretty expensive as that should be 1.5 hr labor as I recall. Easy to do yourself ; ) Go oem only on maf's btw.
And no, if the MAF is just starting to go bad/out of spec, it won't throw a code yet. However, always good to check codes as you can preempt some failures ; )
