Hello everyone, I have a 2006 Sonata w/ 150k. Replaced the master cylinder MYSELF a while back and it went okay for a bit (couple weeks) but now whenever the cars is warmed up the brakes lock up. Each time I checked the fluid had built up well past the H mark on the cylinder and I would remove some and drive it back home. Unfortunately when I would remove fluid it wouldn’t fix the issue. And at cold the level sits directly between L and H. I did bleed the brakes when I installed. But I did not bench bleed, I bled the MC by pushing on the brakes then lose in hand tightening lines directly on MC. Is this MC defective or did I do something wrong? Im sure the latter. Thank you
You need to bleed the ABS system as well.
Which isn’t possible without a $30k scanner huh?
Nah, a $7,000 scanner would be able to do the job.
Or find a mechanic to do it for you.
