What are your thoughts on Mazda?
Mazda is partnering with Toyota now, not Ford. Given Toyota's reputation for quality vehicles, Mazda should start improving its vehicles, too.

The ICE CX-90 and CX-70 are basically the same car underneath with new but similar powertrains.
It’s an inline 6 turbo with a mild hybrid starter generator. I personally don’t consider it a hybrid qua hybrid like Toyota. That’s is not nexessarily a bad thing, just not a full hybrid.
Although it is a Mazda, and Toyota owns part of Mazda, the technology drivetrain is so new, no one really knows if it is reliable or not.
If you are willing to take a calculated risk, it may be worth taking.
Ever since Mazda bought themselves out from under Ford during/after the Great Recession, their quality has been improving. You can see this in both their reliable powertrain and their refined designs. Gone are the days when Mazda was known as the cheap car you bought when you couldn't afford something better. Mazda is a serious competitor to the other vehicle manufacturers and is underrated. When the Japanese own their own companies, they make great products. Mazda is also at the front of innovation when it comes to fuel efficiency. As with any car, however, it's best to make sure you have a trusted mechanic who can check out the vehicle.
