Im looking for a new car. Im thinking about the mazda 3 ? 2017+ will it last the same as a corolla ? Both with automatic transmission. Im not sure about the civic since i believe you have to adjust the valves after 100k?
I do not think Mazda can be close to Toyota from longevity point of view.
Mazda’s are a great choice and both Mazda and Toyota are working in cahoots now. Mazda has really nailed the skyactiv technology and the one major problem they had with the older 3’s was rust. Corolla’s gonna be a bit more dull to drive but both are great choices in terms of reliability
Actually, Mazda seems to have better reliability data at the moment (non-turbo engines and transmission have been around for 6-7 years). They've been pretty reliable, unlike the issues Toyota has had with its 8 speed transmission that's only 3 years old. Lots of issues with it have led to class action lawsuits. Just search for "toyota 8 speed transmission issues".
