Anybody know anything about those Mazda 5 vans with the manual transmissions in them?

Great car. I had one that I bought new, and it 285k miles on it when I sold it. Engine ran great and didn't burn any oil. Trans shifted smooth and never hesitated. The only issue with these cars is rust- why I had to get rid of mine. If you live somewhere without salt and snow or find one that's been roost proofed anually, then it's a great buy. Small footprint, but cavernous interior once you fold down the seats. Overall, a really fun, practical and reliable car.

Great cars! Mazda3 underneath. You could get them with manual transmission. For most people too small as a van. Sort of same story as an olden Nissan Axcess. But it handled well, reliable, … pretty well on a par with 2.5 litre Mazda3.

The auto's are the weakest point the manuel's should be good if a mechanic says the engine and transmission are good and its in good shape with no more than 100k miles, it could be a great car! Just realize quality wize the newer Mazda's (2016 2017+) would be better but still a good car!
