Hello Scotty, I learned a lot from your videos and I try catch up with all. I am getting used car and I’m between cx 5 2018 and Honda cr v  2016. I want to use the car as long as possible. Both cars roughly will be 40k mil. Which one do you prefer? I want to use car 10-15 years with minimum failure parts. what is the best services can be done for used car after purchasing used. Thanks so much for helping. I am thinking Mazda cx 5 2018 sport or Honda cr v 2016 ex

What is the price? Private party or dealership?

Mazda is little expensive, Honda is little cheaper because of the year.

Where are these cars being sold-is it at a used car dealership or sold from a private party? What is the price of the Mazda and the price of the Honda?

Both are from Carvana Honda is 23-24k and Mazda 24-25k

I would be careful with Carvana for the sake of you not being able to see the car until after you've paid for it. Honda's reliability goes back and forth. I would go with the Mazda CX-5.

That seems really expensive, but that very might be the prices because of the market we are in.

I have a friend with the second generation CX-5 and she loves it. So far so good.  And personally think the build quality is better than both Honda and Toyota.

And I personally have driven a 2015 CR-V consistently (same generation as the 2016) for the last 6 years.  It is at 99,000+ miles and has performed flawlessly.

FWIW, I have also driven a 2015 RAV4 for the last 6 years consistently for the last 6 years, with ~50,000 miles.  And while not as much mileage as the CRV, has performed admirably.

While both would be great choices, I lean towards the CX-5 because the CRV has a CVT.  The CRV also has direct injection (which could potentially clog up the valves).

With that said, these 3 are vehicles I would actually consider when buying an SUV of that class.
