2014 Mazda CX-5 or 2012 Toyota RAV4?

Looking to purchase a used vehicle and I am currently stuck between these 2.

2014 Mazda CX-5 Touring Sport Utility 4D - 78,000 miles, Automatic transmission

2012 Toyota Rav4 Base - 79,000 miles, Automatic transmission

Both are privately owned and have similar pricing.

Would going for the "newer" car be a smarter choice over going for a car that is well known for lasting longer?

Just looking for some tips from folks who have perhaps have owned these kinds of cars.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one as long as they are on good shape. The Mazda is more sportier then the Toyota. Later Mazdas like this one have the quality close to that of the Toyota. I would perfer the Mazda.

Drive them both if you can. see what you like better.

Overall I like the CX-5 better.Feels more premium. Especially the Touring.

But the RAV4 ain’t too shabby.
